The build of the horse needs to be taken into account when selecting the size.  For borderline cases if the horse is particularly fine for its height then go down a size.  If it is very broad or has a prominent wither or thick neck then it is better to go up a size.

It has come to our notice that bibs are being described as Bossy's Bibs but in fact are just poor quality imitations.  The materials we use have been tried and tested on thousands of horses for over 15 years and have proved to be safe, durable and highly effective.  You can recognise a genuine Bossy's Bib by the label which is sewn into the binding and by the packaging as illustrated below.

When correctly fitted, the loop should be at the centre of the chest as indicated in the diagram

The top strap of the outdoor or stable rug can then be passed through the loop for extra security.

The label and all seams should be on the outside, not against the horse.

The bib should be covered by the rug.

I prefer not to use elasticated bibs or quilted bibs, because my pony lives out through the winter, day and night. Your bibs are the best I have seen because they are quick drying, non bulky and effective at preventing rubs.

May I congratulate you on your product. I previously ordered for my old horse (26) who every year has suffered extremely large rug rubs despite all my efforts to buy him the best fitting rugs around. This year I have had no problems and his shoulders do not appear to have rubbed at all after using one of your Bossy Bibs.

I’m writing re the bib I bought from you. My horse wears rugs both indoors/outdoors. His shoulders are in great condition, no rubbed marks. I’ve washed it several times and it keeps in good shape, I’m extremely pleased with it. When I bought it I wondered whether it would fit, but it does, he’s 18.2hh TB.
